Wild West

WILD WEST

The Ligonier Valley Players revived the Wild West on Saturday for a fun-filled fundraiser at the Ligonier Wild West Chuckwagon Bar-B-Que and Revue.

Pappy D's Pig Roasts and BBQ, from Shanksville, smoked beef and pork outside the Ligonier Theater while guests were "deputized" upon arrival with star-shaped badges.

The theater's entrance was a covered wagon, which lead to a table laden with goodies from Giant Eagle and Sand Hill Berries and red-checked tablecloths beyond.

Cowboys and cowgirls mingled, including special guests such as WTAE-TV's  Michele Wright, with her daughter,  Ally , and Ally's friend,  Hannah McCreary, and  Mike Trimboli.

Trimboli is a member of River Junction Shootist Society in Acme, cowboy-era enthusiasts group that uses replicas of period guns for target shooting. Participants are scored on speed and accuracy.

Theater manager Eric Harris came as Black Bart, who was involved in an on-stage gunfight that landed him in jail.

After dinner, attendees settled in for a live show with country, gospel and bluegrass music.

Seen at the chuckwagon and barbecue: the Players' executive director,  Cathi Rhodes, board president,  Larry Shew, E. Kay and  Gertrude Myers, Emily Wisneski, with her daughter , Susan, Rich and  Roxana Flickinger, Diane Cipa, Naomi Neiderhiser, Audrey Tostevin, Will Formato and Chuck and Judy Polomsky, with their children,  Trevor and  Ella.
